I don't belong behind a gate!

This baby/dog gate is the bane of Beau's existence. When I'm cooking up goes the gate.......otherwise I have a crafty thief just waiting for me to get distracted by the phone or the door and steal anything that's within his very long reach. He's cute but he's a thief!

Sleepy Head

After a day at Thetis Lake...a good run/play/swim and he is so tired. A sight that makes me very happy is a tired dog.

Tug the Cheek

One of Beau's favorite games is tugging cheeks.....here is Chunk happily trying to following Beau's lead. Chunk has the disadvantage as he has 'tons' of cheek to pull.
These two can really wear each out. And that's a good thing!

Beautiful Place

At Macaulay Park today...a little speck on the crest of the hill. Every day that I walk with Beau at this dog park I feel pretty blessed to live in such a beautiful city, province, country. Double click on photo to make it larger and you can actually see Beau.

Beau and Chunk

Chunk (his real name, not a nickname!) is a 7 month old Old English Bulldog and Beau playing tug-a-war at the beach yesterday. The mud puddle photo was also from the same go round with Chunk. They played like they hadn't seen another dog in years....... oh do puppies love to play together.

Chunk is a real favorite among all the regulars at the dog park....he's so friggin cute and such a chunk!

As Time Goes By

Beau just loves to look out at the ocean, he can be so contemplative and peaceful watching the birds and boats or nothing at all. Him and I spend a lot of time at this spot just being.

I can't swim now?

No swimming for 7 days for this little pooch. Ear infection in both ears, most likely from his less than perfect swimming style. Poor Beau! He goes apoplectic when I put the ear drops in...I feel so bad for him.

More Swimming!

I can't even tell you how excited I am that Beau is finally swimming. So I have to post all these swimming photos. Isn't he the cutest? He's pretty proud of himself.

Cash and Burn

He's a confirmed swimmer!!!!!

He's a swimmer!!!! Today he swam all by himself, no body in the water with him, he even swam out to get the stick and saw a bigger  ( and better) stick further out so he swam out to get that! That was at Thetis...then we stopped at Island View on our way to the airport to drop off Matt and he swam out there too. He's a swimming Lab...just days before his first birthday. This photo is me and him at Thetis Lake a few days ago. What a joy!

I think I can, I think I can

OK these are not technically the greatest photos but I'm out in the water with my P&S camera taking these shots of Beau swimming. If I'm in the water with him he's full of confidence and swims out quite far with me...but swimming does not come naturally to him. I'm going to keep taking him to Thetis Lake so he can swim with me and practice, practice, practice. It's so damn cute swimming with him...at least today he swam without his little tiny whimper....so things are looking up!!! God love him!!!!
