I think I can!

I think I can. I think I can. I think I can. I know I can."
— Little Engine That Could

Here is Beau going down stairs for the first time. As you can tell by his furrowed brow he wasn't too sure about the whole thing. He'd been playing with my Mum's dog Miri in the rain, and you can see he's not so much a yellow dog as a dirty dog.

This is one of my favorite Beau photos, he was just 8 weeks old in this picture.

I'm ready for bed!

I'm noticing that I have a lot of sleeping puppy shots....not only does he look especially adorable when he's sleeping but I can actually focus my camera on him. If he's awake he's a moving target, usually a very fast moving target, hence some shots being out of focus, but they are too funny not to share. Here he is waiting for me to come to bed. Most of the time he sleeps in his crate but I have had a few moments of weakness.

What is it about puppies and shoes?

In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semihuman. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog."

You Talkin to Me?

I was greeted by this look when I waltzed into the kitchen this afternoon...like he had every right to be in the dishwasher.

Michael is the dishwasher man in our household and he'd been telling me that Beau LOVES the dishwasher, but I had yet to see him in action.

Beau and Miri

Here is Beau playing with Miri, my Mum's Belgian Shepherd. They had a ball playing, playing, playing themselves into exhaustion. Gotta love that!

Beau loves plants

Beau loves plants, eating them that is! He definitely picked the right place to live as there is no shortage of plants in our garden. Pansies are his favorite and he has done a stellar job of pruning them. Here he is eating pansies, checking out the rhodos and hatching a plan to get that Chocolate Cosmos.

Beau with dog celebrity Brad Pattison

Here is Beau with dog trainer and host of "At the End of My Leash" Brad Pattison. They were in town filming three episodes of the show and Michael was writing an article for the TC on them.

Beau was a huge hit with Brad and all the crew as well as the Dallas Road dog walkers, runners and tourists.

Photo shoot #1

Week two

Beau Chillin

Not a great shot but shows scale

Another one of the "Beau Looks"

Yellow Dog on a yellow chair

We admit that we are smitten with our adorable puppy, probably OCD about him, in fact we are OCD!!! He has brought so much happiness and comedy into our household. We can't wait to get home from work, or school in Will's case, to see him, take him out to pee, play with him, clean up after him as Michael has bought out the doggie toy store, watch him sleep, play with him some more, take him out to pee again. Beyond that we don't get much else done and we love it!!!

Getting Beau

On October 31st, 2009...Halloween.... Michael and I headed up to Courtenay B.C. to get the newest love of our life. We got him from a kennel called Linedance Labs. It took us forever to choose between the two puppies, I'm sure the breeders thought we'd never decide. Beau is the one with the scarf.
